Learn how to create awesome visual trails in Houdini and Nuke. We'll also take a look at how to distort these lines in DaVinci Resolve to create a compelling psychedelic design.
Procedurally modeled all geometry using Houdini 20.5, leveraging the new COPs workflow for procedural texturing. Rendered in Karma, taking advantage of the XPU engine to quickly generate the final images. Composited in Nuke Indie and cut together using Davinci Resolve.
A blast from the past, a bit cringey now, but a fun project I completed while working on the Lego Movie 2.
I created all the elements using Houdini and composited them in Nuke, capturing the shot with my DJI Mini 2 drone. My goal was to bring to life an epic battle scene featuring the Rockman character I designed. The combination of these tools allowed me to craft a visually striking narrative of destruction and chaos. It was an unusual challenge since I wanted to make everything from scratch - from the shooting to the final composite.
I just wanted to share an old DJI Mini 2 drone video I created about three years ago in Vancouver, BC. It was my third flight, and being new to drone flying I forgot my SD card. So all footage was transmitted to my phone at 720p, but I always liked the way it turned out.
Filmography
A collection of professional projects I've had the privilege of working on.

The beginning of my Houdini journey inside of Unity. I have years of technical experience using Houdini for feature film visual effects, and decided to dive into the real-time world of Unity.
This was a quick demo setting up a hex program as an HDA to run inside of Unity. This allowed for building of the logic inside Houdini, but being able to adjust the parameters near real-time using Houdini-Engine. The layout is entirely procedural, allowing for walkways and walls to be built without having to manually construct the locations.

I began my journey with Maya back in 2008. At that time, I relied heavily on MEL and PyMEL to overcome the limitations of particle effects. Since then, I've transitioned to Houdini, embracing a more effects-focused approach to my work.
Photoshop played a crucial role in my early career as a graphic production artist, transforming 2D garments into stunning 3D visuals. I utilized our custom rendering engine at Embodee to create lifelike representations that truly mimicked reality.
